Mobilization and Political Economy Research Program

For two months, I had the opportunity to be a research fellow in the Mobilization and Political Economy research program hosted at the University of Pittsburgh. Through this program, I strengthened my quantitative and qualitative research skills through sessions in R Studio and Nvivo. Additionally, I was able to work with my mentors, co-founder of the MPE program, and Sociology professor at the University of Pittsburgh,  Dr. Fernando Tormos-Aponte and Dr. Heidi Reynolds Stenson from Colorado State University of Pueblo, who guided me through the graduate school process. With their mentorship, I wrote a research proposal regarding how over-policing impacts the mental health of those from overpoliced neighborhoods and those who are BLM activists. With being in this program, I am more prepared for the graduate school process.
