NABJ X NAHJ Convention

During the late summer of 2022, I had the privilege to attend the NABJ x NAHJ Convention in Las Vegas through the National Association of Black Journalists. As the former secretary of the time, I was able to work with our President to gather funding, do room booking, the hotel, and flight details.

This was the first trip I would take that was away from UCF. Although I am not a journalism major, I wanted to focus on building connections and learning from those in the field. Through this convention, I was able to learn about the different opportunities that would be available for those who are involved in communications since I had some experience through the political positions I have been involved in. 

I'm looking forward to the next NABJ convention and to connecting with other students and experienced professionals within the field.
